The Tort Crisis Myth
Think capping damages and shortening statutes of limitation is the way to hold down rising medical insurance premiums, check out this mythbuster by the Center for Justice and Democracy.
You people are leeches on society. To quote data from the CJD is ridiculous because it is funded by ATLA. Try making an honest living instead of off the backs of hard working people and those you have suffered.
Poor Joe: no reason to let ignorance of the facts get in the way of an opinion.
ATLA doesn't fund the organization we mentioned.
Unfortunately for you, the facts don't support the position the health care industry takes on the imposition of responsiblity for harm caused by negligence. The industry doesn't trust ordinary people to make decisions about responsiblity - the same ordinary people who pay health care providers everyday.
Feel free to post your opinions, Joe. Please post or reference any facts that you have to support them - we are happy to share your point of view with our readers.
And, if you are a physician (which your email address suggests), feel free to post your full name and where you practice so that your patients have an idea of the attitude of their doctor.
Then again, perhaps that isn't necessary. They probably already know.
