About Us

Branham & Day is a law firm located in the Nashville, Tennessee area, with our offices in Brentwood, Tennessee. We practice exclusively in civil litigation. John Branham and John Day founded the firm on January 1, 1993 after serving as partners at the prominent Nashville firms of Howell, Fisher & Branham and Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry, respectively. The other lawyers with the firm, including shareholders John Wood and Rebecca Blair, bring varied professional backgrounds to their work.

The continuing objective of the firm is to provide the highest quality legal service to its clients on a cost-effective basis. By focusing our practice on civil litigation, we believe we have advanced our skills in two critical areas to serve our clients: trial skills, and case management skills.

Trial Skills

Civil litigation is what we do; in fact, civil litigation is all we do. If you would like assistance with forming a corporation or drafting an employment agreement, we would be happy to suggest another lawyer who can handle those matters for you. On the other hand, when you need an advocate in the courtroom or in alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration, we believe you should hire a firm that has the litigation skills and experience to garner a positive result for you.

At Branham & Day, we share more than eighty years of combined experience trying lawsuits. We have lawyers admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Eleventh Circuits, and all Tennessee federal and state courts. John Branham and John Day are both Fellows in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the most prestigious and exclusive organization of trial lawyers in the country. Read the biography of each lawyer for a more complete understanding of the background he or she can bring to your case.

Case Management Skills

We recognize that our clients are not in the business of prosecuting and defending lawsuits. We do not waste their time and money debating immaterial aspects of a case. Instead, we concentrate on issues that will have positive net returns for our clients. We know where the goal line is, and the best path to get there. In almost every case, that path is a straight line.

In each case, we tailor discovery to locate and obtain the proof we need while weeding past the extraneous matters. We understand the factual and legal issues that arise from discovery of electronic evidence, and endeavor to address those issues proactively to benefit our clients.

All attorneys in the firm have the ability to access, from their desks, each document in a client's file using state-of-the art legal document management systems. For document-intensive cases, we use a specialized litigation database to organize deposition and hearing transcripts, scanned copies of documents produced in the case, and any other evidentiary materials. When evidence is needed for a deposition, hearing, or trial, we can quickly search for and present it.

In Short...

We believe that we can assist patients in pursuing compensation for their injuries due to medical negligence. We would be honored to discuss representation of you or your loved ones.
