Deep Vein Thrombosis
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a disorder involving the development of a clot in a deep vein in the body. In orthopaedic patients, trauma (including fractures) and certain procedures such as total hip replacements and total knee replacements increase a patient's chances of developing a DVT.
